Serpentine Conversion questions.

Hello All. Hopefully this is the right thread for this post.
I’ve been looking into swapping from a v-belt for quite some time. I’ve read several threads here about them and it seems like the heads are often the problem.

I snapped some pictures of the front of my engine. To see if I have the necessary holes for all the brackets to Mount up.
I found a whole set local and have sourced a few in the pull it yards nearby.

if I’m able which system will work best with what I currently have?

I believe it will be 1990-95 Chevy truck w/ 4.3 5.0 or 5.7 TBI engines. The s10 trucks with the 4.3 TBI engine will also work. Make sure you get all the hardware, and the pigtail for the alternator. The power steering pump is more than likely coming home with you also. If I’m wrong, someone will be quick to correct me.

I like the 88-92 F body/88-93 B body set ups as they are not as tall as the truck brackets. I have the F body stuff on my Malibu

I have used the Camaro setup also, on a V8 s10, where clearances were a little tighter. I focused on the truck setup due to availability in the U pull it yards, and the room to work inside the truck engine bay. Keep in mind, there are setups with and without the smog pump. If you want to keep it a little cleaner, keep looking for the one without the provision for the smog pump on the passenger side.

My serpentine set up had a smog pump. I left it off and just ran a shorter belt. I did not use the smog pump idler eliminator either.

Streetbu's setup is the non-smog pump version. A cleaner install in my opinion.

I used the 4.3 S-10 serpentine setup on mine. It is pretty nice, but the A/C compressor sits high on the drivers side and is close on hood clearance. It will fit, but may require some massaging of the A/C hoses. You can use a bypass pulley and have a lower profile swap without the A/C compressor installed. The power steering pulley is also close to the power steering box, but will fit without hitting.

All the S-10 accessories should transfer over and bolt on, but you will need the S-10 alternator pigtail to adapt to your harness.

I didn't notice that, I have the smog version and never realized that there was a non-smog version. I have to find one now....thanks guys
