last thursday i went to a place called "pick and pull" in chicago and i i got a newer steering wheel and front plate bracket for my satty and a shift knob from a caddy. the caddy shifter had crappy leather i just cut off and the button was under the "T" shaped shifter. it was from a later model el dorado. imma get some epoxy and goop it on the shifter and then shape it later. what i was thinking was getting the epoxy on the shifter then while wearing a glove and the epoxy is wet, grab the shifter and let it dry to the shape of my hand. YAY imagination!!!

how do you get the t-handle off anyhow?

You have to pull this little clip out of the shifter handle's base:

Then the shifter pops right off.
