If I built a daily driver with 350 or max 375 horsepower, I would do a shorty to Y pipe similar to stock third/fourth generation F body into a single 3 inch exhaust transversely mounted and dumped out the side. When I had a Edelbrock TES and full exhaust with no cat set up on my old 87 Firebird and went to 1 3/4 and dual 3 inch, the car was more then 2 tenths quicker in the quarter.

I’ve done a lot of both, if you’re going for max power or racing then long tubes. Mild street car, shorties all the way. So much easier to install and to work around it’s not even funny.
