Alright seems like I’m plugging this now. Haha. Really didn’t want to fight taking the entire thing off and put one one just to remove the motor in a year.

map ib weld and a cap or bolt? Is that best method? Any other adhesives that may work?

Vise grips. Pinch the end closed on the straight part of that pipe at least an inch's worth if you can. Flatten it out, then fold it over. That should buy you time.

I cut a metal dowel to size and some quick steel and tapped it in right off the catalytic converter, it stunk when the exhaust warmed up a couple of times but it solved my leak till I put a new one on and that one was plugged/capped right out of the box
