I’ve found a good deal on a LQ9, it has a Sniper high rise fabricated sheet metal intake. Has anyone used one of these without hood clearance issues? Really don’t want to cut the bracing on my hood and don’t want to have to spend another $700 on an intake

Holley has a drawing for most of the intakes they make in their tech section. If it's taller than 9" from the heads it will be a tough fit with holley ls swap mounts.

Time for a new hood, new intake or some factory hood hackery.

Couldn’t find a drawing on their website but on the specs, the front height is listed as 8.267 inches. With the tb mounted it measures a little less than 8 3/4 from the valley pan. 🤞should be ok cause I pulled the trigger on the engine

That's how it starts that is my third hood for my Monte Carlo since the engines keep getting bigger also over a 20 plus year span though. Started with a 2-in cowl and then a 4-in cowl now a 6 1/2 in Sunoco scoop custom bolt on Glasstek Hood

Trust me, been there and done that and at my age, I’m done with frame notches, tons of custom fabrication, and frequent tear downs and rebuilds, certifications, etc.

That sounds about the same as a truck manifold which will fit under a stock hood. I think stock truck is 8" tall? Not sure.
Already got the 2” Goodmark, and if I start making more room the temptation to add turbos or other becomes greater 🤣

88mm. Stock hood. It isn't hard to accomplish.
