Hey Everyone,

New here... waiting for Covid 19 to die out to drive 3 hours from NYC out with a buddy to pick up an 85 Regal with the 3.8 V6.
So exited about picking her up and can’t do anything but dream up what to do with her.

Thinking a street suspension kit (Hotchkis? Eubacteria?) with 1-2 inch drop
Possibly a SBB 350 to build, tho there is a great article on how the 3.8 is a stout motor that can handle a lot of HP.
transmission and rear to match up to power being created.
Pretty sure this car came with a column shift 3 speed
Though I’m “only” looking to make between 300-400 hp. (Big gain over the stock 110)
Staying with a 15x8 inch rim with 235 up
front and 275 in back. ( like the black Crager Soft 8 wheels with chrome center caps and with some white lettered rubber to stand out on an otherwise black car.
GN hood
LED kit brake lights
1 piece GN rear spoiler
LED headlights (make a huge visibility difference from stock halogens)
Haven’t really though of interior bits yet...
Sorry for rambling but I’ve got Buick fever.
Had a 1992 Century custom so not totally new to Buick family!

Thanks Melloelky!

Congrats on getting a new toy.
As far as an engine swap you might want to consider a GM crate motor. 350/330 for not a ton of money and a warranty to boot. I had one built for my 81 and bought a crate for my wagon and the crate was much easier and I had it in 3 days right from the local Chevy dealer. They were even cheaper than Summit

Thank you, and thanks for the advice. Did you end up upgrading the transmission and rear?
