I just looked up the size of 145/80 x 16 tire. It has a 25.1" dia. and a section width of 5.6-5.7". I think that should work nicely.,,and should fit in the tire well with no problem.
I'd still have to make sure it has enough backspace and doesn't interfere with the brakes when bolted on.

Sorta related, but ancient


Years ago (mid 1980s) I remember seeing a poster on the wall at the place I always bought tires that specified that temporary spares were not to be dismounted, remounted or repaired. They were to be serviced as a tire/wheel assembly.

Quite possible that that has changed in the 3 decades since
