Hi, I am back everyone. Hope all is well. I am getting stumbling under load, misfiring around 35-45 mph. I have Bosch Platinum plugs in the '84 Regal with a 3.8L V6 now and they have been there many years. I think they are breaking down. What brand and what type of spark plugs do any of you recommend for a stock engine with original miles?

Cant go wrong with AC Delco. Stock engine = stock plug.
That is what I was always told. I only went with the Platinum because I heard they last longer. Now I just have to find out the part number for the AC DELCO plugs I need. Thanks !

I always ran Autolites with great results.

But like everything the quality had gone down.

Now I run NGK's

I would agree don't go crazy with changing the design. I have run multiple brands of platinum plugs with no issues in cars that came with them and most are fuel injected coil pack type ignition systems. So before you go trying to find why they didn't last long in your situation I would just go with factory original type plugs. As far as name brand, I won't try to recommend one because they all have either worked or not at one time or another. I have used NGK in the race car, and Autolite and Ac Delco in the street cars.

whatever plug you go with make sure it is copper, there too much resistance in the plugs that last for way too long. Our cars are easy to change the plugs so each spring I put in a new set.

Well my mechanic will do the work for me. Because I don't think I could easily replace #6 plug, the one under the A/C by fire wall. I just need to know which plug to buy... The Conventional or Rapid Fire. I assume Conventional. Last time I replaced these plugs was around 8+ years ago...

Autolite Copper in my 305.

This isn't something you really need to over-think.
