So, is it possible to use a Holley intake and a Speedmaster or Holley throttle body instead of an ls1,ls6, or truck intake on a 5.3 ls motor with a modified factory harness and reflashed computer? I prefer the old school/retro sleeper look.

Sure, if you can tune it.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Is it even possible to tune? Or if I’m looking at a ton of time and $$$ at a professional and on a dyno. Not looking for anything more than a street tune

Cheap street tune? No such thing.

Proper "street tuning" takes many many many horrible time intensive hours of work (cold starts require a day or two alone) - ballpark is usually $800+. A bullshit 3 pull dyno tune can be had for a few hundred bucks.

I could tune it.

Locally the price is $400 if it needs tuning only, but they rarely do. He likes to keep them overnite to make sure the cold start works correctly. Generally 4-6 hours of work, but occasionally one can take longer if problems/dilemmas exist or the motor is well more than stock.

I also wanted to mention that a air gap style dual plane intake is a better option for a street car.

I bought a 2 inch carb spacer from them.

Both flanges had "steps" in them from poor machining.

So bad that it would not sit correctly without wobbling on the intake

I had to have it milled for it to work.

After that I was so discussed with it I tossed it on the shelf and there it sits .
