the speedo in my 87 monte ss was swapped over to a 120mph gauge. my gauge is reading approxiamately 30% off. any ideas on how to correct this?

it does make my 0-60 times look fantastic!!! i can beat a z06!

if you used a overlay then it is off, you have to recalibrate the speedo. think about it that needle doesnt know what its pointing at, when you are doing 45 it still thinks it is pointed at 45 but its not on the overlay, its still a 85 mph speedo no mater what the numbers say. get it recalibrated and you will be all set.

got it figured out. any mph speedo will work fine. what happened is that at some point the trans was replaced with one from a car with 2.56:1 rear gears. i went to bowtie overdrives and got new drive and driven gears and everything is perfect. and the car still goes really fast!

I saw a company selling 140 MPH speedometers for the Grand prix and other cars. All new and recalibrated. Has any one out there tried one yet?
