It sucks but if you ran into the back end of someone how can it be their fault?

It is true in the laws eyes if you rear end someone it is automatically your fault. But in real life that is not always true. It should be a case by case scenario like most accidents are

if you are paying attention and drive expecting the unexpected you will never run into the back of someone breaking. In what scenario can the person in front cause a person in the back to run into them?

Pontiacgp I thought you were involved in circle track? In that world when you hit someone it's always their fault, even if they hit their brakes you still blame them

circle track has no brake lights so you can't play with the driver behind. In street traffic you have brake lights to warn the people behind of you applying your brakes. If a driver follows too close or is distracted and cannot stop in time it's the fault of the driver who strikes the vehicle in front. I don't see why the driver who stopped his/her car is the ahole when the driver behind was the one who lost control of their vehicle.

well it wasn't just raining it was the first snow of the season, sleet on the ground then rain started i don't know what he was thinking but slammed on his breaks at a green light don't know if he thought it was red or what but caught me off guard i know technically its my fault but like (ITh4n4tosI) said it should be a case x case scenario.

I know, it grates when someone does something weird and catches you out.
Snowing with a slick road surface?, triple the gap you would leave between you and the car in front, he might slam on his brakes because he was spooked by something he thought he saw in poor visibility, or maybe he was trying an insurance scam.

I wasn't there so I don't know what happened, neither have we heard the other parties side of the story. But sh*t happens, and your car is back in good shape. Carry on enjoying your car.

Roger.
