MONTE CARLO Starter Heat Soak

guys this starter heat soak is so aggravating. i wrapped my starter in one of the shields pictured below. but it still drags when it gets hot...wth...

I use a Moroso 74299 starter heatshield for a Tilton style starter .On both my 1979 Z-28 with a supercharged small Chevy .And my 1981 El Camino SS with a 290 HP 350 crate engine(My daily driver() .For years with no issues .I also use heat resistant hose for my wiring and battery cables

it has always been like that even when i changed new engine. i thought it was a bad starter at first then someone told me its heat soak.
