So I bought a brand new Four Seasons blower motor for $25 shipped from Ebay for my Regal and I was surprised to see it had a steel squirrel cage on it instead of the plastic one, it works great and almost feels like there is more volume but that could just be my imagination.
Is the steel one a common replacement now?

Good question. The blower that came in my 87 aero had a steel cage. No idea if it was factory or not, honestly didn't care. I think I have it somewhere in the garage still.

I can't imagine what the reason for the difference would be besides cost.
