I was trying to adjust the slack. The allen screw has only about 3/4 of a turn from bottoming out. In other words it will not loosen more than 3/4 turn. Is that normal?
While we're here - the idler arm has just under a 1/16th(1/24th) inch up and down with about 20 lbs of force applied. Still good or oh,oh?

Should be no play in idler arm joint, and GMs are famous for bad idler arms. I'd replace it with the improved Moog piece.
