I had replaced my tumbler and tried to tighten up the wobble while it was somewhat apart. Couldnt get to the "3rd" bolt. But when taking the column pcs out, this "ring" thing popped off and wont stay in place. I think it wedges in between the bearing and that shaft that the steering wheel attaches to. So i bought a rebuild kit off amazon and will be getting it hopefully by friday. But what keeps that "ring" in place? And what should i use to pull that bearing out?

He shows you how to fix the tilt column wobble and has to disassemble the entire thing to do so. Id bet the answer you seek is in that video. He does a great job explaining step by step.

I did this job last year using the video below. To save you some time, it starts at 22:00.Good luck!

Made an edit to the time stamp. I originally thought you were referring to the ignition piece.

this thread reminded me to go pick up a steering column from a G body so I can work on that one to I can make a manual steering column with the manual non-tilt column I bought from clean8485 last year.....

just keep looking and one will show up or you could always cut the mounts for the shifter and paint the column..

I thought about doing that. I forget that dang shifting collar can move and wont let me start the car if it does.
