Ah ok...so the safety feature still remains...terrific. Was there a difference in price? Who/where did you get your parts from?
I bought all of my parts from Summit about 10 years ago, the price for the collapsible shaft is $60 and $75 for the telescoping.
It is going to about $225 total buying Borgeson set up but you are getting all new parts and IMO better quality and also adjustability to have more clearance for big headers like I have,
