Does anyone know the part number to this lamp socket or is some weird wiring done by the previous owner. I have an 87 cutlass and I’m trying to replace the socket for the rear passenger bottom, however when I do find a black socket it says it only comes with 3 wires not 4 like mine. Reason for replacing is it’s old and I believe it’s bad. When you press the brakes it actually dims Isntead of bright like the top one. Just curious to know if that 4 wire socket is normal or just me. On the driver side the bottom one also has 4wires to it. Thanks

I have a taillight wiring harness from an 84 Cutlass (pictures attached). The socket on the bottom driver's side is the only one that has 4 wires coming from it on this harness. Only number I could find on any of the sockets is 388E stamped in the metal clip that secures the socket to the taillight.

The "4th" wire is tied together at the socket. It is paralleled to the companion socket. Unless it's a full on concours resto, just splice in a 3 wire.

As fleming442 said, you're likely going to have to make your own. The plug socket plastic/metal pieces are the same in all taillight bulb sections on G47 Olds, the 4th wire needs to be connected in on the lower lamp sockets.

Easy peasy.
