Not sure which thread to have attached. Bought a 80 442. Radio was missing. Bought one from Junkyard from 84 Buick Regal. Fits nicely. Bought wiring harness as the original wasn't there.
Pretty simple to figure out wires - red positive - black ground - yellow constant etc.
WHAT IS STUMPING ME is in radio hole - there is a small plug hanging down with that has only 2 wires. CANNOT figure out where that plugs in or what it is for.
Bought wiring harness and it came with that same plug.
Thanks for anyones input.

Are the wires orange and dark brown on the plug? I believe those should be 85 and up, though. Either way, a 2 pin, flat plug is for illumination and clock power on Delco radios with internal station and clock memory. Got a pic of said mystery plug?

I'll take a pic soon. When I bought the radio wiring harness that has the big plug - it also came with the small one as well - that looks like the one in the car that I'm describing.

This is the plug to what I don't know what it is, where it goes or what it is for.

Can't figure out where it plugs into, if that's what it is. I know when I turn the key on - you can hear the blower motor run under the hood whether I have the fan switch on or not. The vents don't blow but I hear the motor. Thanks for your reply

That is because of the "lover's lane law". In AC equipped cars the fan comes on the lowest speed all the time to create positive pressure in the passenger compartment. That way when you are, um, parked and getting busy, with the engine running, no exhaust fumes get drawn in. Could that plug be for a power antenna?

I don't think it's the power antenna because I thought the blue wire was for that. Plus the radio doesn't have anywhere for that to plug into. I'm stumped.
