Be careful with the two small bolts holding the backing plate. They're very soft, and they'll break off before you realize that they're not coming out. Heat the flange before trying to turn them.

I've often wondered about using later s10 backing plates ,like 93-up. They use bolt in wheel cylinders and the same shoes as a g body. The only problem is I haven't seen new plates available for trucks that new but the yards should be full of newer s10s. Even my 03 s10 dd still uses the same shoes as the older cars.
