Other than the part numbers, they both spec out the same. Same output, exact same measurements, etc. Hmmmm, marketing ploy maybe lol!
Maybe they are clocked differently?

I have been starring at the PC to long, I think my eyes are spinning in opposite directions

Can someone tell me if they see a difference between these 2 alternators

For my Monte I have had a few different hi amp alternators and the issue I had with all of the cheaper ones is they don't have enough idle amperage to keep up when everything is on and end up working too hard and get very hot.
About 4 years I bought a DC Power 180 amp that has 130 at idle and it solved all my charging issues and even at idle I still have 14 volts with everything on.

Get this one or the second one I recommended. Those two 100 amp you picked use the 10si fan on the 12si case, if the pics are right. Why in heck are all these hodge podged? GM did the changes for a reason, better cooling as amp demands were going up.

It's not a GM case they used there own mold that looks like a stock GM

It doesn't have the fan ridge on it

I realize that but the changes were done for a reason, it seems most copied the 10si. I can tell you my 10si chrome 100 amp alternators did 5 years at best. The only one that lasted longer was not a true 100 amp, probably more like 80.

Chrome retains heat which is extremely bad.

The Powermasters at least have the larger vents on the rear of the case.

I agree the chrome retains heat. I bought a 70 amp Summit chrome 10DN alternator for my 70S, I would have preferred plain. The performance tag showed 53 amps at idle and 82 amps at cruise, very good for the 10DN and kept up with the Stratus dual fans. At least most of the Powermaster's have the big vents like the 12si cases.
