Well I'm on the search for my project car now. I was hoping to find a bench car with no center console and t-tops but I'm wondering whether thats really gonna happen or not. How common were t-top cars on low optioned cars? Should I just get a hardtop and settle?

My brother's '81 Cutlass has T-tops. However it also has buckets and a console.

I can't say I've ever seen a T-top car with a bench seat.

Alright. I'm just gonna take whatever comes along decent. If its not t-tops I'll just put a sunroof in...

Just be sure you REALLY want a sunroof....I did that years ago when I was younger and wish I would have never cut the car up for one.
Trying to remove a sunroof later on is 100 times harder than paying to have one put in!

Why don't you like bucket seats and center console?? Just wondering...

Gonna be a "four on the floor" style cruiser should I find a decent bench car.

Just so you know, it is not hard to add a bench seat to a bucket seat car. It's just a matter of removing some brackets on the floor. It will be even easier to deal with a split bench car since you won't have to deal with the console brackets.

Good to know. I definitely wont let that sway my initial purchase then.

Of all the gbodys I''ve had I've never messed with any interior minus putting a radio in.

T-tops could've been ordered on ANY trim level of car.

I've seen quite a few G-bodies with T-tops and bench seats.

There's a '87 Cutlass Brougham with the pillow-top split bench and T-tops that comes to mind that I saw a few years back.

They aren't very common, but they're out there.

The proof...my car is a t-top/split bench seat car. I'm having to add the options I think my t-top car should have: Euro panel, bucket seat interior(still searching)...etc.
