Alright, so I’m in the midst of swapping my clock for a tach. Everything’s going fine so far, apart from having to repair the circuit board. My only other problem I’ve run into is that I don’t seem to have this little red piece that supposedly goes in the back of the tach? Not sure to be honest. Anyone know what it is and where to find it? T.I.A.

Are you missing the jumper bar? If so you could solder a piece of #14 house wire across the back. One side is for 6 cylinders and the other side for 8 cylinders. Use an electric solder pen for this.

You are a lifesaver. Would you happen to know which side is for the V8?

I think it's the right. I have a new tach somewhere in my garage I'll look for it later today and let you know for sure.
Alright, thank you a bunch. Now I need to be positive on what side, cause I’ve heard left is V8 and right is V6. But then again, can’t argue with proof.

There are three metal bars the top bar is V6 and attaches to the middle bar.
The bottom bar is V8 and attaches to the middle bar.
So wire between the bottom and middle bars..... there is a 6 and an 8 marked on the white plastic
hope tis helps

I had this when I got mine in, the wire from the I/P went down and was taped up right on top of the steering column, I like to have never found it. you have to feel for it because you cant see it from any angle.

looks like some one already soldered it can you pull the red thingy out that the connection that goes flacky. if you can't its most likely been fixed already. I tossed the red thing and added a wire accross the two shiny bats at the bottom of your photo
