hey, I have an 82 Grand Prix that has a tachometer on it stock, the engine had a computer on it and now i'm swapping that engine out.
my question is where is the tachomter wire in the engine bay? does it come out of the computer wires on the passenger side, or somewhere else? i don't think it comes out of the two-piece harness on the driver side, because my manual doesn't list it there.
if you know what color it is, that would also be helpful. thanks.

The gauge wires are not part of the computer harness, they are part of the charging and main engine harness that exits under the wiper motor. It should be a white wire that connects to the distributor under the terminal marked "tach", which is right next to the pink wire that goes to the terminal marked "bat".

Make sure if you have a tach filter on the wire you keep it their for the new engine.

I'd say no,it should have the same clip on the end of it as the pink wire going to the distributor,For some reason i'm thinking mine was brown..

I am not positive, but that connector almost looks like it goes on the brake proportioning valve. I think that is connected to the frame, it has some brake lines going to it.
