There may be info out there already but I thought now is the time to bring it up. The door hinges if left unattended will wear and place strain on the striker pin. Eventually(mine did) the metal surrounding the pin will develop cracking, weakening the door jamb area. I found that Safari mini vans have a matching door striken pin with a much larger washer which broadens the area of contact and less likely to crack.
Compare G Body door striker to the black Safari Van.

The striker bolt assy can also be sourced from the C/K GM Trucks, 1988 -1998. It is a thinner dished washer of slightly smaller diameter.

Apparently, according to my buddy Mark who is a mechanic, that larger washer is also available seperately from GM.

The Safari van striker pin is 1/8" too short - I tried it. The lock functions with one G Body washer behind the Safari striker pin. The Safari striker has the washer 'captured' behind the bolt's threads which makes removal difficult. Gotta find a way to spin the large washer off. Be cheap like me or get the dealer part instead.
