Not necessary. MAF is not used on the Term X.

MAF is really used in conjunction with the O2 sensors and a speed density open loop table in the ECM for emissions, MPG, and a failsafe if another sensor fails. Early EFI cars like TBI, TPI, or early port stuff like 5.0 mustangs didn't have a MAF.

I know early 5.0 mustangs went to MAF later due to emissions requirements.

But yeah, basically MAF is used in factory ECM's and thats about it. I'm not aware of an aftermarket setup that uses MAF.

Megasquirt can be set up to use any MAF sensor as long as you can provide the data for the voltage draw.
I agree 110% that MAF is an emissions required component. It is much more accurate if a reading than a MAP sensor, but not a MAP sensor is accurate enough to keep from damaging the engine.
And MAP works way better with boost.

Thanks guys. Why do they have wiring for this if not used?
I'm not familiar with a Terminator X kit with MAF. What part number did you buy or are you looking at?
