Stall speed mainly depend on the RPM range of your cam. Are you still running CCC?

All the stall you want.

But stall should be picked on how you want to use it and what you want out of it. My son has a 10" FTI that dead stalls to 2800 easily and can work it hard to 3000. It will flash up to about 4200. It works fabulously on the street with his motor, but it leaves alot on the table at the track. But it is not a track car, so he really likes it.

What motor?

What are the actual cam specs? What rear gears? Yes, you can up the stall on a lock, really nice to get the true 1 to 1.

You want a 2500 stall with that cam and at least a 3.42, probably a 3.73 is better depending on the tire size. That will be night and day different.

This is pretty good advice but word of warning, do not cheap out on the stall converter. You’ll be sorry. A cheap converter Includes brands like B&M, Summit, etc. and they’re nothing more than the factory converters that they took apart, modified and welded back together .Cheap converters will be too loose and are very annoying when driving around town. A good quality converter like Circle D will drive like a normal car until you put your foot into it.

Agree my $200 2200 to 2500 stall PATC, flashes around 2350, it is Ok but has about 10% slippage when not locked up. Everyone really likes the PTC "Dr Dan" 2800 stall for the 2004R. Dr Dan Mascal, knows the 2004R, he builds them into the 9's in the 1/4. It was only around $450 last I checked. Like L92 pointed out, like a stock converter till you step on it. I had an Oregon Performance 2000 to 2600 stall, flashed around 2400 and was loose, implode running the 1/8 mile. Then it was like a sling shot, just getting home.
