With a new year I am hoping to see some new parts for our cars this year. Who knows what will come out this year coming but it can't hurt to wish.
The firewall/frame mounts
Hard top roof panels-atleast for the 2 doors (sorry 4 door/wagon guys)
Real urethane bumper covers/fillers
A better A/C delete box that fits better & retains the use of the intake vent panel
More dashes
More/better color matching interior parts
Astro bucket parts & trim
The floor panel under the rear seat/over rear axle
Just more sheet metal for the non-Chevy's
Special coupes (37 & 47) quarter window trim
Affordable aluminum driveshafts
Trunk lids
Complete T-Tops
Replacement cowl/windshield panels
Firewalls
More exterior glass trim
Station wagon & 4 door headliners
Some sort of a rear door wind down window converson
More quarter panels
Rear window/trunk filler panels (inner & outer)
O.E. wheels in 15", 16", & maybe 17"
More trim clips
Bumper rub/trim pieces
Bumpers/bumper bars in O.E. materials
Those bumper shocks/mounting hardware
Better O.E. exhaust replacment parts/hardware
More non-Chevy engine mounts
Gas tanks with out issues
Station wagon tank sending units
Better headlight options

Feel free to add on.

At least you aren't asking for a lot.;) I'm just hoping for more G-body parts no matter what they are.

BUT SOMEBODY MAKE SOME REPRODUCTION TAIL LIGHTS!!!!!!!!!

I'm only asking for 1978's. ;)

I know this is a real unicorn wish....But I wish someone would make bolt-on coupe-style fenders for Regal 4-doors and wagons. Currently, they require a lot of fab & metalwork to make them fit.

A bolt in AC/heat box that is small, looks good and is not $2500.00!!!!

Some more affordable rearend options would be nice. I think a repro 8.5" housing would sell pretty well since all the other parts are readily available.

I agree, an affordable housing already redesigned without c-clips.

Damn, if you need quarters, roof, cowl panels and floor/body mounts, you need to buy a different car. I've never been overly impressed with aftermarket/repro sheetmetal, with a few exceptions. In most cases, you'd be better off sourcing OE stuff from outside the rust belt.

Most G body variants are still available in the south/southwest and don't require all that surgery/patchwork.

Sure, there are some that have those problems, but many do not, and in the long run you wind up with a better end product.

I will second or third that 8.5 rear housing, but I fear it would not be cost competitive with the 9 inch, especially the ones with reclaimed housings

My list is a general list from some of the parts others have been looking for. I was thinking of what is not out there/could be improved on.

Realistically, things like roof panels are never going to recoup the tooling cost for a quality stamping.

Just reading the "discussion" about Cutlass taillamps in tobyp's lightning rod thread should be an indicator of how many different versions of seemingly similar parts were used. Hell, the 80 and 81 Malibu park lamp lenses are different, even though they share the same header panel and housing back mold.

Personal taste I guess, but having grown up around rusty 5 year old cars, i will never even consider a project that needs complete floor replacement, and rusty roof panels usually means rusty everywhere...especially inside closed sections like A pillars. Too many decent builders left to build rustbuckets.

Soft trim and plastics are absolutely needed, though.
