Stumbled across this pile on FB marketplace and just couldn't say no. Why do I do this to myself? 61" Ferris zero turn with suspension. 25hp Kawasaki motor, which is blown up. Mowed and moved, until it didn't. LOL going to see if I can salvage the motor. Somehow the bore appears fine at first inspection. Literally no piston left in it, just the rod and wrist pin. Took the same head out as well. $450 for the whole unit. Hoping to get it fixed and running for a total of 1k including buying it.

The Z turns are quick little bastages. Great if you've got a big field or a lot of flat land. The Kawi motors are generally great, but super expensive. The core is probably worth something. You might want to look into swapping it for a Kohler Command or even a Briggs Vanguard.

To bad you can’t come up with a 90* gear transfer that would work and not cost an arm and leg.

Here are some better pics. And of the engine damage. Betting the head overheated because of a mouse nest, dropped the exhaust valve, which in turn demolished the piston. I still can't find a single nick or scratch in the cylinder wall. Think I'm going to toss a piston in it, and a used head, and hope for the best LOL

I mentioned this quite a while back but got some pictures. They used these on a lot of golf courses. A Worthington tractor. My brother bought it cause it’s got a Chrysler flat head from the factory. But he would sell it. Have no idea how much. Found this about them…

Rare 70 degree day in March, and I'm off work!



Lawnmower day! Not gonna need them for a bit, but they needed moved from there winter resting place.



This freaking mower is 23 years old. I throw rubber parts and carb diaphragms at every so often. Had to prime the carb with some gas cause it could use a new primer bulb.

Thing fired up and ran like a sewing machine.

As long as the deck doesn't rot away, Jr can have it some day.
