I have to step back and take a break from the Salon to keep my sanity. If you've been keeping up with the Salon build, then you've witnessed the issue after issue I'm having. Anyways, I'm at a point I need to sell one of my G bodys and I'm thinking I'll sell the El Camino. It's a good truck and my sole daily driver BUT if I had to choose between an El Camino or a Monte Carlo SS, I'm picking the Monte. So the new game plan is to just put the Monte back together with a different chassis. I'm not painting anything except the chassis since it needs a coating. I had cup brushed it then left it outside. I'll cup brush it again. I bought the 87 Locally a few months ago for $2000 and drove it home. It had LOTS of issues but after disassembly, I found a bent chassis and the firewall corner was wrinkled. I have a total of three Monte Carlo SS' here and between them, I have enough parts to make one nice car. I had already bought a ton of new parts so that's the major factor for this new plan. Right now I have more time than money so this will be a budget beater. So here goes a build thrash to a new daily driver. This is the current state of the SS

That's a solid plan, while the frame and suspension components are out from under the body, clean them up and paint them. All the hard-to-reach parts and the Mechanicals will be painted, so the chassis will be nice till you can afford to do body work later. I'll be following this build also.

Shame you could't work the build as a tax write off for your new venture.

Degreased and cleaned the chassis. Tomorrow going to sand and prime it. Figured I'll make the chassis and engine look nice at least. This will be my personal daily driver so I want that part done.

I tried Ritalin, Adderall, but Concerta seems to work best. LOL

Man, that car looked so clean when you got it. Sucks to find that damage hidden. Knock it out!
