I've been thinking about adding this here for a while. Being the accomplished family hauler and race car... err... truck that it is, it contains some interesting information. We originally bought this 2007 TrailBlazer SS back in 2008 after the gas crunch/economic down turn for less than half of its retail price. It would take about 6 years before we managed to put a baby seat in it - but that was its intended purpose (and some poor planning got it on Drag Week in 2016). It remained my wife's daily driver until 2015 when she got her Colorado, and I got a Procharger. She's had a lot of drama, damage, and modifications over the years (my wife too for that matter), many of which are captured here (the truck, not my wife):

Today's activities included detailing this behemoth. Started by hitting the underhood area with some Scrubbing Bubbles doing some degreasing... smells lovely now. My pressure washer took exception to the paint on my throttle body - LOL.

Washed the truck with the new foam canon - works as advertised. Smells like Honeydew. With the truck all clean the hard water stains and scratches were irking me. I hate waxing and the like - but I have the tools for a reason (self-respect I think).

So I whipped out the polisher and dug into the hood (the worst panel) with the third and second most aggressive polishes, and then a quick coat of wax.

The truck is single stage and could use a glaze and sealer. But, I have my limits.

I'm guessing the girls came up with the name. Either that, or you stumbled onto some peyote during field training......

Truth is it was the byproduct of choosing a build thread name/theme that was the same as another TBSS owner. Which as I recall was "Just Another TBSS Build Thread". So a change was required to reduce the confusion. The Purple Monkey Dishwasher reference is a nod to the Simpsons:

I have to take the girls to the dentist tomorrow so I added some timing, bumped up the rev limiter and raised the shift points.

Cool TBSS and nice build up, I'm on that forum too but didn't see your build thread, I usually bop in for info and maybe post a thing or two. I really like my TBSS but just can't get myself to start modifying it really, rather use that money/time on the toys, not the DD. Maybe someday.

Got home from work and picking up the kids only to find trace amounts of brake fluid on the driveway and in the garage. It was leaking from the PS front flare fitting... destroying the paint on a bunch of formerly clean parts in the process. Jammed some food in my head hole, and got to work pulling stuff apart. Cranked down on the fitting, bled the calipers, fixed the dead paint, and greased the front end. Screw this. Dude, where's my new car?

Need the TBSS to pull out the stuck utility trailer out of the back 40, and since it was warmed up I took my oldest for a drive to blow out the cobb webs and to get some of that cheap cheap gas.

Thing is when we got back I took a good hard look at the "Jake" hitch receiver cover and it really looked like a steaming hot pile of... well... you know. And since I am all about getting distracted these days I took an hour to doll it up a bit.

Soaking in paint thinner and scrapping away at the old paint inlays.

220, 400, 800, 1000, and 2000 grit rolled around a 19mm socket I found laying on the bench.

Autosol and the Mother's mag polish rubbed in with a old sock.

Sprayed some ref Metalcast into a paint can cap and filled the voids with a Tylenol syringe and a small screw driver.

My oldest was pleased with the result as this thing is promised to her if the TBSS ever sells.
