If you have the ceiling height I would agree, but most home type garages don't. And the concrete has to be able to support the post without pulling out
If you have low ceiling height, an option is the MaxJax by Danmar. I was seriously considering this before I got my new garage. Works like a 2 post lift, but only goes about 4 ' high. You can sit on a stool and work under the car, or use your creeper.
