Dr. Roberts is 100% wrong in his description in this article. He's a nincumpoop (technical term). The clamping force of the lug nut is developing a load between the wheel and hub face, not the hub pilot unless the pilot is an interference fit.

A tapered lug nut is centering the wheel on the wheel studs. If it isn't then the wheel stud is being bent - bending a wheel stud is bad (another technical term). There are wheels designs that are piloted onto a hub and have an interference fit, personally, I've never seen one on a car but that doesn't mean they don't exist. In the truck world they are used. But the lug nuts are not conical.

I will put Blue Lqoctite on them if they continually back off. I plan on using the lug nuts that come with them to attach them to my hubs. My car has longer lug nuts, they would interfere with the rims on the spacers. If anything is off, they will not go on.

Well, supposedly on their way from the US, Ohio to be exact. Here is the current pic, you can see how sunk in the A body wheels are on a G body.

Your wheels are just too skinny. The Pig looked pretty sweet with the 15x8s and 275/60s on it. But, yes, I had to use 1/4" spacers, and it still rubbed.

Sounds like you're good to go, I've never really had any issue with the application specific spacers. The lugnuts supplied should be shorter so they don't touch the wheel, should be able to use your lugnuts as usual on the wheel side.

All of the application specific spacers I own (i.e GM, ford, bmw) have all been hub centric and fit the hubs properly, should be the same in your case

I called - max'd out a credit card before I realized it was a 900 number. Thanks Steve.

Now I'm getting a divorce because my wife got an email alert from the CC company....AND I'm living in the street. Well, living in the bush, but not the one I prefer.

Yeah, these are skinny wheels, probably 14"x 6" with skinny 215/75R14 tires.

Well, I recieved them, well made and the center fit my wheels perfectly. The bolt pattern is right but here is the two major issues which is why I can't run them. They just barely fit on the rear drum center but the center does not fit on the front rotor hub. I was going to clearance the front but ran into the other issue once I torqued the spacer down on the back. The studs stick out too far. Does anyone know a part number of a 1.25" to 1.5" wheel spacers that fit stock G body brakes that don't cost a fortune?

Do the studs hit the rim?
You could adjust the stud length for clearance.

Yes, the studs hit the rim, not cutting studs, considered it. The wider spacers will fit no problem. Any suggestions for spacers? They can be Metric or Standard studs, as long as they bolt right on stock G body rotors and drums.
