I used to aluminum braze alloy bicycle parts. I didn't know what I was doing but I managed to repair several brake calipers.
Yes but you would need to fill a 3/4 hole to a thickness off 3/4". I'd be very sceptical of those brazing rods doing that. Then you have the issue of whether the rod material is hard enough to machine as you would still have to drill and tap it. Not sure if you ever tried to machine very soft aluminum but it gets very "gummy" causing material to pull and gall.
