Well after years of staring at my poor cracked dash, it's time to save it from it's slow death.
Bought an Accu-form cap and got the dash removed yesterday. I've read several of the how-to's on this site, so hopefully I can get it done well.
Any additional tips or tricks are always appreciated.

Hey brother Longroof,
I don't know if the dash cap will adequately cover those huge cracks. I know that they're rather thin, which means the cracks might show through.

I was initially worried about that but from my first initial test fit, it looks great! I'll try and get a pic of it test fitted. If all else, I can use some filler on the cracks

You basically have to prep a cracked dash like you are getting the body of a car ready for paint, you will want to fill and smooth out any cracks or recesses and remove high spots so your final work covering it will look good for a long time.

Any recommendations on filler to use? Or will just normal run of the mill bonds suffice?

Nevermind, re-read one of the How-tos and he used flexible fiberglass filler. Looks like I'll go that route

Well cranked away on it over the last few days. Used long and short strand Bondo Glass to fill in the cracks. Had never used the stuff before, so it didnt quite turn out like I wanted. But it got the job done for filling the big gaps and stuff.
Used some DAP Alex Flex for the Silicone, clamped the hell out of it and left it for about 24 hours. Then prepped it, painted it and installed it.
I've been around this car my whole life (family has owned it since new) and it's always had the worn out cracked dash. Really feels nice seeing it how I've always imagined it could look.

man that looks good! At least to my untrained eye.

I recently reinstalled the factory dash back into my Monte, previous owner had installed a sheet metal dash. All i did was get a dash carpet for the time being. Eventually id like to do a cap but id like to get another factory harness and reinstall the vents and AC/Heater box before getting the dash capped.

Man in this summer heat I sure wish my car had been optioned from the factory with AC. I'd love to have it. So I'm going highly encourage you to find the stuff and put it back on yours!
I think the cap is a really good way to go. Parts cars with good dashes are next to impossible and any good pull outs that anyone has, the want near or over 1k for
