Tips for changing intake manifold

That's the crankcase breather and you need it. I recently had the same issue with my Performer Vortec. What I did, was buy a steel 3/4" hose splice and I stuck that in the valve cover, then used a small piece of 3/4" hose to connect the hose splice to the stock breather tube. You can use heater hose but I went the OCD extra mile and bought oil return hose intended for a Turbo. Here is the hose splice part I bought....

Its a Four Seasons 84741. Your local parts store should be able to cross reference it. After adding the hose splice, believe it or not, my setup was too tall so I had to trim the stock breather tube to length. Not stock but gives the appearance of stock....

Guy I'm having some SERIOUS cooling issues. I can't let the car run for longer than 5 minutes. I shut the car off before it crosses the red like on my temp gauge. Smoke or steam (looks really light. I think it's steam) comes out of my oil fill hole on the drivers side valve cover, and steam comes out the breather that Texas82GP was talking about on the passenger side valve cover. Just did a full oil change. I also filled up on coolant. The car cools off quick too, usually within 10mins I can run it again. I just don't know why it gets so hot. And I'm sure that coolant is getting to the manifold because like I said earlier, it was spewing coolant from the hole I forgot to plug up. I can't find what's wrong. It never overheated when it was stock.

Not sure. It was the one that was in the old manifold.

Also a side note. The radiator hose that goes from the drivers side top of the radiator to the top of the intake is hot as sh*t. The radiator hose thats goes from the bottom of the engine to the bottom passenger side of the radiator isn't really hot at all. Warm, but that's it.

Let the car cool down and check the coolant level. If it's not that, the thermostat may be sticking. At least that's my opinion with the info I have right now.

Did you change your oil after doing the intake swap? If not you may have coolant in your oil.

If you do have coolant in your oil DO NOT run the car. You will destroy the bearings if you didn't already!!

Yes, oil changed after the swap.

Just drive the car up and down the street for like 10mins. Didn't over heat at all. Weird

fail safe thermostat if its gonna get stuck it will get stuck open advance sells them
