I want to replace the 15" cragers on my 1987 Monte Carlo SS with 17x8 wheels. I"m looking for recommendation on tire brand and size. Bill WV
I run 245/45R17 square Michelin Pilot Sports on all my cars, after dozens of trial and error it has always proved most cost effective and best performing in the long run.I want to replace the 15" cragers on my 1987 Monte Carlo SS with 17x8 wheels. I"m looking for recommendation on tire brand and size. Bill WV
17x8 245/45 front 17x9 275/40 rear
Cooper rs3-s, because it's one of the few summer performance tire that isn't directional. With a staggered setup it allows rotating the tire from side to side to fix any wear issues.
I ran 275/40 in the front and they rubbed with the stock steering box so I downsized to the 245's and am happier.

You wouldn't have uneven tire wear problems if you stopped blowing up rearends. Just sayin'...
I guess blowing rearends is better than blowing trannies???
