Hi,

I have a 87 buick regal with wheels from a monte carlo ss on it. I am going to be buying new tires before summer rolls around, and I'm looking for some feedback regarding sizes. I am probably going to go with 255/60/15 in the rear and 235/60/15 in the front, the rims are 5x7. What tire sizes are you all running.

245/60/15 all around for me. You won't have any problems with the sizes you listed.

^ right as always, but a guy in the area was selling rims off his cutlass that rusted out, and he was running 235/40s in the front and 295/50s in the rear without any problems apparently. So like already said, you'll be just fine.

Not sure what the backspacing is on those wheels but most guys with the stock 15x7 GN wheels don't run wider than 275's on them.

You should be fine 255's. My friend was running 255/60/15 on his monte's stock wheels.

Now for the next question:

RWL or BW? :)

Black wall all the way. I have 275/60 on a 15x8 on my El Camino. They are awfuly close to the frame though. A notching job is planned for this month. I like the tire to tuck inside the car though; I don't think a 295 is inside at all.

I'm planning on buying new 15 inch wheels, and I would like to run 295/50/15s out back as well. What type of backspacing or wheel width should I look for? Will regular 15x8 or 15x10 wheels do it?

I willing to venture that those 295s on 10" rims don't fit in the fenderwell. I don't care for the rear end being jacked up with the tires sticking out of the wheelwell; I like the tires tucked up into the fenderwell with the suspension dropped.
