I have a 87 regal with 255/60/15s... the wheels are 15x7 and 255 is about as wide as you can go on the WHEEL, the car will fit up to a 275/60 i believe
I'd say that a 255 might be the biggest you'd want on a 7seven. A 275 might pull in too much.
I've got a friend with an '84 Chevy C10 with 275s on 6" rims and it looks silly. The tire can't even get all the tread onto the ground it starts pulling too soon.
I got 275-50 -15 on a 8" rim with 3 1/2 backspacing and they fit sweet.I also have 28-10.5-15 slicks that fit on the same kind of rim.The slicks are real tight though.
I have seen 275's on 7" wheels more than once, but yes there is alot of buldge. It's also going to depend on your backspacing. If those Z wheels have 4.25" BS like my old Z wheels did, then 245/60 is as big as I could go - and that was with 5/16" spacers and still very little clearance. Without the spacers, I couldn't even mount the wheels as the tires would hit the frame before the wheel was flush with the drum.
I now run 245/60/15 all around on stock SS wheels.
