Something different that our manufacturer messed up on not making the molding lines, so I decided to see what it would look like if I removed all the molding lines and see what it turnes out like

tomorrow we will apply some blue pearl and some clear coat to see how it turns out

Re: Took a regular hood, removed the molding and put a scoop

doesnt look too bad, kind of different. It doesnt help that I rushed this into one day and I didnt have time to bring the hood to bare metal, it made some waves from the existing paint left over, and this hood wasnt it the best of shape anyways.

I think it looks pretty good Toby. Is the scoop another reproduction item that's available?

Re: Took a regular hood, removed the molding and put a scoop

I like the clean look of no moulding lines down the center, but......, I think the little chrome spear on the front of the medallion should be altered, to eliminate it, The first thing my eye is drawn to is the piece on the header that the medallion is attached to, it seems to lend to the fact that the hood moulding is gone. Again the hood looks really good, its just my opinion that the spear needs trimmed off and the lines moulded in on the header. Nice Job!

Really??? the stripes on the car match exactly to the ones on the hood. I guess I just assumed it was the original hood. I haven't taken the hood bad off to see how it was mounted. What year cars had the trim up the center of the hood, this hood has a ridge up the center much like a Malibu hood does
