I need help y'all. I'm stuck. I need about 400 hp. I have flow masters 40s. Straight back no converter. No headers. It's a old goodwrench. 60,*** something miles. No after market parts. 200r4 trans. I know I need a top end package. I got about 4 grand to spend on motor work and install. How should I go about this? I'm stressed. Lol. Thanks bros

Does it have an oil filler spout? Or, does it have an oil filler cap in the valve cover?

MrSony, Back in the day GM had replacement the Olds engines with "Goodwrench" stamped on the valve cover.. I've seen a few Olds 307's back in the day with this label.

It's a replacement. The shop said it's a 350 olds. It does say 350 reman. Good wrench on the valvecovers, 5 bolts...I'll take pics tomorrow.

Never seen a 5 bolt valve cover before. The dead giveaway for any olds is an oil fill tube on the left hand side on the front. IF it is an olds, do you know it's a 350 or is it a reman 307? i see way more 307s than 350s. Especially since the 307 was made until 1990 and the 350 was phased out in 1980/1981.

Sorry 5 bolts at the bottom of each 1. Not sure about the sides that are the closest the carb. I'm about to go outside in this freezing weather and start taking pics. Sorry guys

It's fine man. We just want to help and the first step is getting as much information as possible.

5 Bolt covers were on late '50's/early '60's Olds motors. There were some 10 bolt covers that didn't have all 10 holes punched in the late '70's. Can't remember how many were punched in those ones. I knew a guy about 20 years back that had them in his stash
