Well, my Utica Bonney torque wrench that I bought back in 1979 finally bit the dust today. It was my first and only torque wrench. Click type.
Now I need a good quality replacement. Been looking online for the past hour. I want another click type that goes to 150lbs. The Utica Bonney started at 0.
Dont want a HF although the new Icon stuff doesnt look that bad. Im considering a Proto.
Whats everyone else using out there ?

I have one I in ft/lbs got from Advance over ten years ago for my gun box & it works pretty good for my needs for both hobbies. Did buy a inch/lbs one from HF for the carb rebuild & it's a paper weight now. Wouldn't click at the lowest setting even after trying it on a bolt the bigger one clicked on at 25lbs.

I have two Advance Auto click type and a HF needle type just to confirm every once in a while. I have a 1972 Craftsman clicker that my uncle bought new and gave me. Needs gears. I have a Mac clicker that needs gears. The Advance wrenches are good enough that I never fixed the ‘better’ wrenches. And way cheaper. And lifetime warrantied 5 miles from my house.

I have two...Matco 50-250ft lb click type,
Snap On digital w/angle measuring. The snap on one is amazing, although none of the features are necessary for building older engines that don't require tty bolts.

Them beam is actually the most accurate.

But with my eye I now use a digital

There are only 2 or 3 USA companies that make all the USA made ones regardless of the namebrand on the handle

CDI makes most of them

I have a Snap-on 1/2". The lock ring no longer locks, and Snap-on said there were no parts available to repair it. Won't be replacing it with another Snappy, their service level has slipped A LOT over the last 10-15 years, especially given the pricing.
