Hello, I'm getting a torsen posi unit from a 01 SS camaro with 3.23 gears. I'm wanting some feed back about the swap. Anyone do this on here? Also getting 28 spline Moser axles as well. Going in a 79 MC replacing my 2 series 1 tire fire 2.73s. I might resell the 3.23s for 3.42s or 3.73. Thoughts?

guys with camaros do the swap, it fits in the 7.5 housing. According to them the 01 unit that you have is better then the 99 unit. That upgrade is better than an Auburn posi that has small pinion gears that can break pretty easy.

Yeah I've been reading that even New Auburn posi's aren't that great. Just have to get my Moser axles and continue doing some research and I'll be ready to do the swap.

What transmission do you have in the car? How do you plan to use the car? Cruiser? Highway? Street/Strip? If it has three speed trans the 3.23 should be a decent compromise.

Pretty sure it's a th350. I've been trying to find that out too. 13 pan bolts, 3 speed no electrical connecter that I can see. Couldn't seem to find ID on it, Looked above pan on both sides.

No highway semi daily/weekend. mild build for now until better engine one day. Stock 305, 2101 eddy intake will be installed with qjet. Might get qjet rebuilt with performance tune.

The 3.23's will feel good relatve to the 2.73 but if no highway use anticipated the 3.42's will feel better. I wonder what your first gear ratio is?

I have no idea man. I just know it's slow as hell, my 4 cylinder 97 Malibu could probably beat it in a race. That's okay though, I have plans! I'm thinking I'll go with the 3.42

Trade you my 3.73s from a 2000 Camaro for your 3.23s. The gears and Torsen are still in the housing.

About 85K. I already have 3.73s in another axle, and it would be good to have the higher ratio for cruising. I'll get the cover off on Friday and get some photos.
