Before I started doing everything in braided hoses and fittings I did my fuel line and oil lines in push loc hose that I believe was made by Aeroquipe back then and while the assembly was easy they seemed to always seep a little on the hose ends which I then had to install hose clamps to stop which kind of defeated the purpose.
And those lines are low pressure compared to trans lines.
I started doing braided lines after that and that's all I do know and I never have any issues.

is there a specific manufacturer you use for hose & fittings? or do you just chase the price each time you purchase?

I can't speak for 565 but what ever hose-line you choose stick with the fittings that go with said line.you can cheap out on npt to an machined adapters etc but pick one, mixing and matching hoses/fittings can become a messy gamble.
