Can anyone tell me where the rubber mount goes...I'm assuming it goes inbetween the open area in the frame mount but don't see a benefit since it is crushed after tightening it.These are from a Buick V6 car.Installing a 2004r crossmember out of a Hurst I modified for duals about 25 years ago.Pocs will help. Thanks

There are two rubber isolators on each side. The ends of the crossmember is sandwiched in between them. The one in the picture is supposed to be on the bottom against the frame with the crossmember on top of it. The upper piece interlocks with the lower completely isolating the crossmember from the frame.

Considering it was done for years, you could probly just get rid of them by bolting the crossmember up solid to the frame and rely on the transmission mount to get rid of any vibrations.

My 83' Monte that came with a 305 had them and I replaced them with steel flat stock of the same size and thickness since I wanted to make sure everything stayed in line.
And on my 86' Regal with a 307 and 200R4 I just installed a Jegs trans crossmember and the factory crossmember was bolted directly to the frame.

Thanks.Think that is what I will do.
