Good morning. I have a question. I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer. I'm sure this has been covered but I just need to know what transmission fluid to use. To my knowledge this is the first time the fluid has been changed. Very low mileage car but this is the last thing left to do after it sat for years. I can only assume it has Dexron 2 in it. I called Delco but they couldn't answer. I have a gallon of their DeX 6. I read it was backwards compatible with 2 and 3. Since I'm not doing a full flush, only dropping pan and changing filter I need to know what to put in it that's safe to mix with the DeX 2. I know this car wasnt touched far at least 10 years from a maintenance standpoint. The part number on the DeX 6 is 10-9395. Says full synthetic. If theres a better option that someone can recommend I sure would be grateful.

Dexron VI & go. It's able to work with older Dexron.

Schaeffer oil has trans fluid for your application. But you need to find a dealer. Best way is to go on the Schaeffer Oil site for their "retail" outlets.
