Guys,

I'm having a heck of a time identifying this transmission. Mostly because I haven't been able to get under the car properly and I'm relying mostly on the following pictures....

If it's annoying I seem to have every angle but an important one, I'm sorry. Hoping someone can positively ID this for me.

Thanks!

250C or 350. By the looks of your exhaust it *should* be a 350.

If you can get a pic of the front passenger side, there might be a large code cast into the bellhousing. If it says "M31" it's a 250C, otherwise it's a 350.

They are *almost* the same 3-speed, except the 250C has an "intermediate band" that engages 2nd gear, while the 350 has a an actual clutch like 1st and 3rd.

Good grief, how do you twist off a pan bolt on an aluminum case?

TH250C as shipped uses a different pan...same size/shape as TH350/350C, but has ribs embossed in it.

I hope so! :D

But pans can be swapped.

Yeah, there's plenty of little and larger things wrong with the car. Hopefully that's not too hard to fix.

Does anyone know what 'band adjuster stud and lock nut' is, exactly? A picture, perhaps? The TH250C apparently has this near the coolant lines, and I see something in that area that I can't identify.

Not there, it would be up out of the frame to the left in that picture. That's a 2-3 pressure tap.
