IT is only interested in selling what they stock or making you some off your originals. The early A bodies aren't that different from a G. If they're too long, put a vibration coil in it in some inconspicuous spot. The prebent kits usually need a tweak here and there. It's hotrodding; hot rod it (make something work).

Inline is slick. They have two different sets of prices. I placed an order for the steel set on the phone and it was $70 shipped. I remember what happened when I bought two proportioning valves so I looked the part number up on ebay. Ebay price was $38 with free shipping. I called right away and told the sales guy I wanted to cancel the order. He adjusted the price.

I bought a prebent SS brakeline kit for the 67; they sent me a 68-69 kit because their website was screwed up ('add to cart' on wrong line) and that's what I unintentionally ordered. I didn't find out until 3/4 through the install, and the 2 m/c to prop valve lines were way off. All I needed was the 2 lines- "send the whole kit back", Can't I just buy the 2 lines? "No, it's a kit". eeeeeFFFFFFFF YOOOOOOOU!!!! I bought a kit from The Right Stuff, and never looked back. I've used the IT kit for small pieces here and there over the years on my G and my 63 88. I'm almost out, though.

As far as which tube goes where it will work either way. The "cooler" ports in the radiator for the transmission also brings the fluid up to temperature faster when it's chilly out.

I can not believe there are "NO" lines that will work in a GBody for a 400

Nothing has changed between the engine and trans.

Lines come out of the trans and follow up the side of trans and engine.

InLine simply says nothing works because they cannot think outside the box.

Hell even the direct replacement lines they make are different from the factory lines.

The only difference which would be miniscule (fancy word) would be the radiator cooler location.

Shoot me a text in the morning.
This is where it would pay to have no body on the frame.

You need to just buy the ss flare tool and line and make your own, you have specifics that you want but nobody is making for you.

Sad thing is I knew a guy that could do this kind crap with his eyes closed. And he had one of those expensive flaring tools. He used to build race/pro street cars in a shop behind his house. Pretty amazing guy. He passed away a few years ago.
i'm using a kit from inline,it went alrite.i made the rears because the stock ones wouldn't work w/the 9". i had to have them flared @a hydraulic place because no matter what i tried the stainless wasn't playing ball.

I know its been a while but figured you guys might like an update.
I used the regular steel lines to figure out if I could "adjust" the SS set. The steel lines were so much easier to bend. Even though the SS lines are annealed it doesnt matter. Theyre tough to tweak. I dont care what anyone says. They suck. LOL
So this is the end. The radiator side was real close to the idler arm but I was able to fix that. The only thing I dont like is the way the lines spread at the transmission. If I could straighten out the last 10" and rebend it so it would be closer to the top line I would be real happy but its not going to happen. If the header fits and the lines have some space Im leaving this crap alone.

Jack and Turna are right. Im way too anal but not this time !!! LOL
