On both of my Monte's the trunk locks were replaced years ago. I'm slowly replacing the lock covers/caps/inserts on my SS with nice new correct black ones, not touch up painted/black or scratched up ones. Did the driver door, now to the trunk. I also want to re-key the lock so it matches the door key, I've done this before to a set of t-tops and found it fairly easy to figure out. So far I can't figure out how to dissassemble the trunk lock to get the tumblers out. I have the cylinder out or separated from the part it slides in (don't know proper terms). Anyone here have experience or tips? A YouTube search came up empty handed so far, seems this lock is constructed a little differently, than the t-top locks anyway. I have 3-4 trunk locks to pick from, I removed the one out of the car, have another without a key, one with a key and might have 1-2 more with or without keys to use for parts or practice.
