Well. Just like Lays potato chips, I guess you can't have just one! A few weeks ago I scooped up a 1979 El Camino. I have been looking for a '78-'81 for some time now. I finally stumbled across one with a relatively clean body and interior, complete AC and smog equipment, and in running, driving condition. It's got a th-350 sitting behind a sad, saggy, 305 v8. Now I have no intention on turning this thing into a hot rod by any means, but I do intend on making it something more daily-driver friendly than my Malibu currently is. It's going to be a budget project for me. I intend on sinking around $2-2.5k into it so I can enjoy it for a little while before I sell it(at least that's what I've told my wife). I just got a set of Cragar Soft 8's(15x7s & 15x8s) and some BF Goodrich Radial T/As(245/60s & 255/60s) to start, knowing that this will likely be the most expensive upgrade. I have a vision to make this thing like a slow version of David Freiburger's F-Bomb Camaro. We'll see if that translates over to an El Camino without looking like an absolute monstrosity. I'll post major updates as I complete them.
Have a good day, all!
