U Joints

Those that are using a Ford 9" rear, what size U Joint or pinion flange are you using.

Ford used a few different styles of yokes on the 9" from the factory."Short" and "long".the short yokes came in narrow (1310) and wide (1330) configurations. They were also machined to accept either a 1-1/8" or 1-1/16" u joint cap diameter.
I'm running a "narrow" 1310 u joint it measures 3.219x1.062(1-1/16)

If you're under 500hp, then a 1310 is fine. If over I much prefer a 1330/1350 combo joint. I haven't had one fail yet.

If you're into 4 digit stuff, then 1350 is the smallest I would consider on a custom built driveshaft.

I may be around 450-475 at the crank.

I have the 1350 on my DTS driveshaft in my Monte.
